Welcome to Deutsch entdecken

Deutschlandkarte Deutsch entdecken

For all international visitors, I would like to offer some alternatives in other languages, of course. Please, feel welcome to read my blogposts, to listen to my podcast Deutsch entdecken and to contact me in order to ask any kind of questions or to book a lesson.

What would you like to do?

Would you like to practise and learn German? Yes? Great. Then you’ve come to the right place. Because there’s a great podcast and a blog here. You can listen and read. I hope you enjoy it. Maybe you also need lessons. Then I’d be happy to help you. But if you only speak English, you’ll find lots of texts in English here, too.

What can I find here?

There is a structure. You may not find all parts of this offer immediately. Unfortunately, I can’t put together a complete book that teaches German from start to finish. That already exists, you can find it for free and I don’t want to do that. The focus here is on practising German online and learning German online. I use lots of new words that you won’t find in the book. But you’ll need these words if you want to speak German in everyday life. To help you practise, I offer you social media with vocabulary and snacks in German, a podcast to listen to, a grammar section, blog posts and learning tips.

Deutsch entdecken on Social Media

As an additional help you will find support and tips in my social media accounts. Due to the European data protection law I would like to ask you to search for me on your own. That wants to say that I am not using any plugin, at the moment. With Discover German with Stefanie I am on social media. Lots of lovely pictures and reels plus explanations and info in the caption. There are accounts on Instagram, Facebook, Threads, Pinterest, Bluesky and Mastodon. Bad things are happening in the USA right now. Think of the camps in El Salvador. I would love to delete the accounts, if things get worse. But we’ll see what happens. The world is very tense politically. That’s more than sad. I hope you’re doing well where you are. I’m trying to convey a bit of cheerful German. Have a bit of fun.

The blogposts on Deutsch entdecken

The blog covers many topics from the podcasts and more. Also some grammatical advices. There is always something interesting to find and you could try and translate the German text for yourself. But of course there are other main topics and some more grammar on Deutsch entdecken. It will mainly be about beautiful and fascinating places all around the country. If you wish to learn something, then please visit Deutsch entdecken regularly. You’ll soon be able to repeat or learn lots of new things. I wish you loads of fun reading on Deutsch entdecken.

The podcast Deutsch entdecken

You will practise listening in the podcast. As soon as possible, I will share the latest episodes on my blog. Listening and understanding is not easy, for sure. You need to know the vocabulary for this. But not immediately. Listen and repeat. Listen two times or three times. Then the message will become clearer. Then check for words. You have plenty of time and can learn the words quickly. I am sure you can do. And please listen to the words as often as possible. The more, the better.

Some learning tips

Learning is not easy for everyone. In fact, it is often very difficult. However, with the help of a few learning tips, you can start learning a little better, structure it better and consolidate it better. The knowledge stays in your head better. Learning tips are unfamiliar at first, but they help. Of course, you can also learn very well with a little stress. But stress is unhealthy. Make learning enjoyable. Try one or all of the methods in the blog.

Why learn German?

Germany is a home for everyone. So for every man and every woman. If you want to work, you need to understand the German language, speak the German language and maybe even learn the German language up to German C1. There is the German from the German book, which is easy. And then there are the many German words from everyday life. Place names in a city, names of activities, names of rooms in everyday life. You have to understand that. This is sometimes confusing and a little difficult for some learners.

For this reason, I would like to help a little. I know that many of you don’t want to learn German or don’t plan to. However, it is often compulsory for work. For your safety and for the safety of colleagues and customers. It makes sense. I hope Discovering German can provide you with some fun and information on social media, with the podcast, with grammar and with the blog. I therefore look forward to your feedback. Maybe you have a wish or a question. Then, please, feel welcome to contact me.
